Accountability as a system, not as a scolding
When a commitment only holds because someone remembered to ask about it, you do not have a system. You have luck.
Strategies fail when there is no clear mechanism that secures commitments and effective follow up. Follow up turns personal, and whoever is most uncomfortable to ignore gets the most results.
What it is forInstall a practical accountability system that connects commitments, follow up and results.
How I run it- Accountability as a system, not as control.
- Clear management rhythms: who meets, how often, and to decide what.
- An escalation path, so a blocker does not wait for the monthly meeting.
- Organizational learning: what breaks gets documented and returns to the system.
Commitments that hold because the system carries them, not because someone keeps chasing people.
Is this the same as a RACI matrix?
The roles matrix is one piece, not the system. Without management rhythms and an escalation path, a RACI becomes a nice document nobody opens.
How long does it take to install?
The design comes out of a 4 to 8 hour workshop. Guided implementation runs 4 to 8 weeks, because the rhythms have to run several times before they hold on their own.
Can we do this without strategic planning first?
Yes, and sometimes you should. When the plan exists but nobody executes it, the problem lives here and not there.
What is holding your operation back today?
Tell me the concrete problem. I will tell you whether it is mine to solve or someone else’s, and what I would do first.
