Lean, kaizen and transformation, when the scope no longer fits in a workshop
The kaizen event lasts a week. What decides the result is what happens over the following eight.
Plenty of plants have already done lean. They have boards, they ran events, they even certified people. What collapsed was the system holding all of it up once the consultant left.
What it is forTrigger the larger initiatives from the strategy itself and coach them until they stand on their own.
How I run it- Lean assessment, so we know where the operation actually stands.
- End to end value stream mapping, not one station.
- Kaizen events with structured follow up, which is where it is won or lost.
- Full journeys: lean, digital transformation and cultural transformation.
Improvement that outlives the event, with proven frameworks behind it: TPS, Shingo and six sigma when the case calls for it.
In depth, one by one
Do you work with TPS, Shingo or six sigma?
All three, as conceptual and judgment guides, never as rigid recipes. They get integrated into the real plant context, which is where most models break.
How long is a full journey?
It depends on the assessment. A serious lean journey is measured in quarters, not weeks, which is why it starts with a diagnosis and not with a course.
Can I start with just a kaizen event?
Yes. It is the most common entry point. My one condition is the follow up, because without it the event is a nice week with no result.
What is holding your operation back today?
Tell me the concrete problem. I will tell you whether it is mine to solve or someone else’s, and what I would do first.
